Before you start attempting to identify the sex of your kittens, make sure that both mother and kittens are ready. Kittens should be at least two weeks of age and their mother should be made comfortable with you handling her babies. Warning: do not attempt to do this on newborn kittens. It is easier and less stressful to sex them when older—at least two weeks of age. By placing a mark on the kittens or giving them different-colored collars, you can identify the sex of your kittens from a distance in the future.
