Enough Is Enough: White Ribbon Against Pornography Week
The organization has been running its White Ribbons Against Pornography WRAP campaign since , but the cause to promote decency and wholesome family values has become more urgent in recent years with advancements in Internet usage and, in particular, the problem of young people being lured by sexual predators over the web. This year, the Catholic Women's League in Corner Brook has taken up the fight and is inviting residents who think the federal government and the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission CRTC should be doing more to protect people from these threats to sign a white ribbon. More widespread The ribbons, which will eventually be presented to both government and the CRTC, will be available during masses at the entrance to the Holy Redeemer Parish cathedral on Mount Bernard for the next two weekends. Eighteen-year-old Megan O'Connor and her year-old sister Michaela were among the first to sign the long white ribbon. They get so self-assured, they don't think there is any way they could get lured into anything because 'I'm smarter than that. Saftety net crucial "A lot of kids and parents don't get along that well and don't tell each other anything," she said.
